Ladybrook Community Centre

Ladybrook Community Centre in Mansfield is run by the warm and dynamic Sharron Reynolds and her team. It offers an invaluable community hall and cafe, room hire and meeting space to residents from the surrounding area and community organisations and agencies.  We launched our latest course - Dealing with Anxiety and Depression - at Ladybrook, and it is extremely popular. Sure Start

We have worked with Sure Start Children's Centres to train their volunteers in Domestic Violence and Abuse Awareness and Helping Skills. The volunteers and staff were extremely happy with their course which will directly help them support service users who may be experiencing or have experienced domestic violence. 

#hahalala - it's a case of having to my darlings

Health, and happiness, and love, and laughter all - "hahalala" is the creation of Lisa Alabaksh, author of "it's a case of having to my darlings". Her book is a deeply moving and inspiring account of the love between her and her beloved partner and incredible activist Denise Marshall, of Denise's sad passing in 2015 and of the grief that followed. Bright Ideas

Bright Ideas is a community organisation run by the inimitable Lisa Robinson in Nottingham. It has managed many incredible projects and events, including Slave Trade Legacies: the Colour of Money, and True Colours - a project which offered training for people with mental health issues. Lisa and Bright Ideas are constantly finding creative and empowering ways of highlighting social injustice and combating racism.

A Woman's Worth

As Mimi AC, Amy Clay is a poet extraordinaire and inspirational survivor of domestic violence. She shares her stories and experiences to inform organisations and agencies and to help women of all ages connect with their own power and strength, and build healthy relationships and self-esteem. She played a very special role in our Survivors Speaking For A Change project.

Box Smart Nottingham

Run by the extraordinary Zahra Butt, Box Smart is a community enterprise which empowers women, men and children by using boxing as a platform. She runs women's Box Fit classes, coaches on a one to one basis, and offers nutritional and motivational support & plans to individual clients and organisations.
