Survivors Speaking
For A Change

IMG_3260.jpg

With support from Big Lottery Awards for All and following much creativity and hard work, NG:She's domestic violence and abuse Survivors Group published a series of podcasts of our stories ......with transcripts forming our book,  ‘Survivors Speaking For A Change’. All profits helped survivors.

The aim of the project was to enable victims and survivors to see and believe that there can be a better day. The podcasts and book can help those wishing to understand more about domestic violence and abuse as a gendered phenomenon involving power and control. Find out more about the book here.

‘Survivors Speaking For A Change’ challenges the idea that healing is achieved when a survivor finds a better partner to rebuild her life with. Survivors know there are many ways of healing.

Listen to the podcasts on Soundcloud or here on our website.

The foreword of the book was written by the creator of Counting Dead Women, co-creator of the Femicide Census and until recently CEO of nia, a leading domestic violence charity, Karen Ingala Smith. We also received much valued support from Professor Nicole Westmarland of Durham University, (author of ‘Violence Against Women’)
